Fickle skateboards started with a love of quality skateboards. Back in the 80s, we cut our teeth on strong skateboards with good concaves and classic contours. Quality dropped in the 1990s when the industry outsourced everything abroad. It didn't take long for the lifespan of a deck to fall to 2 weeks maximum.
In 2008 fickle skateboards was born, on wood pressed by a small factory within driving distance of Cincinnati. By 2009 our demand for quality decks wasn't able to be met, and a decision had to be made. The apron strings were cut and we began a journey of re-inventing the skateboard press on lower tech mechanics, hand rolled glue, hand shaped molds, handpicked & sorted veneers. What resulted was some of the highest quality skateboards we have ever seen.
Every Fickle Board is not only a work of art, it is a testimony to the hope that skateboards, and skateboard making can have soul again. Actions speak louder than words.
